I bet on UFC almost every weekend. Here's my exact breakdown process.
Step 1: Get the Card (Monday)
Full card is usually announced Monday. I scan all fights and mark 5-7 that look interesting.
Step 2: Fighter Research (Tuesday-Wednesday)
For each marked fight: - Record and recent form: Last 3-5 fights, quality of opponents - Style matchup: Wrestler vs striker? Counter-fighter vs pressure? - Physical attributes: Reach, height, age, weight cut issues - Finish rate: Does this fighter finish fights or go to decision? - Cardio: How do they perform in rounds 3-5?
Step 3: Line Shopping (Thursday)
Compare odds across 3 bookmakers. UFC lines can vary significantly — I've seen 0.30 difference on the same fighter.
Step 4: Final Picks (Friday)
Narrow down to 2-3 bets maximum. Quality over quantity.
Bet types I use: - Moneyline (fighter to win) — most common - Method of victory (KO/Sub/Decision) — best value - Over/Under rounds — when I'm confident about fight length
What I Look For
Strong wrestler vs pure striker = bet the wrestler (especially if underdog) Fighter on 2+ fight skid = odds are deflated, check if the losses were close Short notice replacement = almost always bet against them Fighter moving up in weight = they're harder to finish but lose power
My UFC Record This Year
- Total bets: 52 - Won: 31 (59.6%) - Average odds: 1.92 - ROI: +10.1% - Most profitable bet type: method of victory (+18.4% ROI)
