Provably fair is the most important innovation in online gambling. It lets YOU verify that the game wasn't rigged. No trust required.
The Concept
Before each round, the casino commits to a result by publishing a hash (encrypted version of the result). After the round, they reveal the actual result. You can verify the hash matches.
If they changed the result, the hash wouldn't match. It's mathematically impossible to cheat.
Step by Step
1. Server Seed (Casino's Secret) The casino generates a random seed. They hash it (SHA-256) and show you the hash BEFORE you bet.
2. Client Seed (Your Input) You provide your own random seed (or the system generates one). This is combined with the server seed.
3. The Result Server seed + client seed + nonce (round number) = game result.
4. Verification After the round, the casino reveals the server seed. You hash it and compare to the hash shown before. If they match, the game was fair.
Why This Matters
Without provably fair: - You trust the casino's word that their RNG is fair - Third-party audits exist but aren't real-time - The casino COULD (in theory) manipulate results
With provably fair: - You verify EACH round mathematically - No trust needed — just math - Casino can't cheat without being detected
Which Games Use It?
- Most crash games (Aviator, Crash, Lucky Jet on 1win) - Dice games - Coinflip - Mines (including 1win's version) - Plinko (including 1win's version) - Limbo, HiLo, Keno
How to Check on 1win
1. Open the game and find the 'Provably Fair' or 'Fairness' tab 2. Copy the server seed hash and client seed 3. After the round, get the revealed server seed 4. Use an online SHA-256 hasher to verify 5. If the hash matches, the round was fair
I check about 1 in 20 rounds — just to keep things honest. Every time I've checked on 1win, it's matched perfectly.
