Plinko is simple — drop a ball, it bounces through pegs, lands in a slot with a multiplier. But which risk level actually makes more money? I tested it on 1win's Plinko.
The Test
I played 500 drops on each risk level with a $1 bet per drop: - Low Risk: 500 drops x $1 = $500 wagered - Medium Risk: 500 drops x $1 = $500 wagered - High Risk: 500 drops x $1 = $500 wagered
Results
Low Risk: - Total returned: $487 - Net: -$13 (97.4% RTP) - Max single win: $5.60 - Conclusion: Very stable but slightly negative
Medium Risk: - Total returned: $472 - Net: -$28 (94.4% RTP) - Max single win: $18 - Conclusion: More variance, slightly worse RTP
High Risk: - Total returned: $513 - Net: +$13 (102.6% RTP) - Max single win: $110 - Conclusion: Highest variance but I got lucky
The Real Answer
Over a large enough sample, all risk levels have similar RTP (around 97%). But High Risk is the most entertaining and has the best chance of hitting big multipliers. Low Risk is best if you want to extend your playtime.
My Recommendation
Play High Risk Plinko with small bets ($0.50-$1). The excitement of hitting a 100x+ multiplier is worth it, and the house edge is the same regardless.
1win's Plinko is one of their exclusive games and the multi-drop feature (up to 10 balls at once) makes it even more fun — check my separate article on that strategy.
